At Cycling Solutions we believe that there are so many benefits to riding your bike for fun, for fitness and for function as a serious method of transport that you’d be daft not to do it.
Our over-arching aim is to promote cycling in all its forms via training at all ages, by providing advice and consultancy to businesses and local government and, perhaps most importantly, through showing by example how it can be done.
We are the the UK’s largest schools training provider and we are now able to set up training in ANY AREA OF THE UK – get in touch and we’ll discuss exactly how we can help you.
Our current major delivery areas are Merseyside, County Durham, Gateshead, Southampton, Hampshire and Middlesbrough. Currently we’re offering training to 27,000 primary and secondary school pupils for 2009/10.
We are also a Community Interest Company (CIC). This means that our profits must be fed back into cycling-related projects and schemes, for example by providing training and access to cycling to those who want to cycle but might otherwise not be able to afford new equipment.
Why cycle..?
There are three basic reasons why we cycle and why we believe you should too:
- Cycling is, quite simply, one of the best forms of exercise you can do. It helps improve your fitness and maintain a healthy heart, can help with weight loss and maintenance, lower stress, reduce the risk of stroke and even help strengthen breathing for asthmatics.
- Compared to the cost of a car it’s almost free. Once you’ve bought a bike (less than 5% of the cost of a new car) it needs no petrol, you pay no road tax, and the cost of maintaining a bike is very small.
- It’s extremely environmentally friendly – no exhaust fumes for one thing, and for the same environmental impact of manufacturing a single car several thousand bikes can be made instead.
There are a few other less obvious reasons too. For example, did you know that in urban environments a bike is usually quicker than any other form of transport for journeys of 3 miles or less?
At Cycling Solutions we believe that there are so many benefits to riding your bike for fun, for fitness and for function as a serious method of transport that you’d be daft not to do it.
