| CYCLE TRAINING
INSTRUCTORS |
We are now recruiting trainers in the DURHAM, HARTLEPOOL and MERSEYSIDE areas to deliver our extensive programme of National Standards training.
Additionally, we are increasingly being asked to provide training to areas other than those where we have contracts, if you are interested in providing training for us elsewhere, whether you are currently qualified or not, we would be interested in hearing from you. However, if you're currently qualified to deliver National Standards training, you will still need to undergo our extensive induction process to be able to deliver our Bikeability scheme.
The broad responsibilities of a Cycling Solutions Cycle Training Instructor
include:
- Teaching children and adults all levels of the
National Standards Cyclist Training, though the bulk
of the work for these posts will be teaching Level
2 standard to school children.
- Delivery of other cycling-related activities, including
leading cycle rides, assisting in the training of
new instructors and peer support of other instructors
and supporting other work related to the promotion
of cycling specifically and sustainable transport
in general.
Successful applications will be given full training and mentoring under the Bikeability Scheme and are required to pass the National Standards Cycling
Instructors course and must have a clean Enhanced CRB Disclosure.
NOTE: We can now offer the required training ourselves
and have CRB checks carried out - get
in touch for training dates and locations.
If you're interested in applying you'll need to:
- Download the information pack and application
form in the best format for you (see below).
- Read it carefully and, only if you honestly
believe you're suited to the post, you should...
- Fill it in and return it to us (before any given closing date).
We'll let you know what we're doing with your form
and, should you be interviewed, you'll will need to
demonstrate that you're already a good cyclist who is comfortable and competent in current urban traffic conditions and that you know and keep to all relevant traffic laws and regulations.

If you're interested in being
a National Standards Cycling Instructor and working with us,
you can get in touch
and we'll keep your details for future reference.
IMPORTANT NOTE: We require
that all our instructors have a current and valid CRB Enhanced
Disclosure certificate and pass the quite demanding and
rigorous National Standards Cycling Instructors training
course.
We also regularly observe and
assess our instructors when they're training, and sometimes
ask our instructors to observe each other and feed back to
each other to keep our standards as high as they can be.
